So far
our trip in Singapore has been a complete
success in so many ways!!! We gained weight,
friends, family and funds!! It’s all about
what we get
right!?
Oh
well not exactly!!! We have had the higher
privilege to pray for many friends facing
very difficult times, provide counsel in
difficult situations, and visit a dear
friend in ICU and her family. Your prayers
are coveted so that true success can be seen
in the changed lives, healings and
restoration in the lives of
others.
I Paul
have been very blessed in meeting so many
new friends and really enjoying the ministry
opportunities in so many different churches.
No place in the world have I seen such
openness to world missions and the welcoming
of newcomers into the body of
Christ.
Just to give you a taste of Singapore churches…
We have both preached in Lutheran, Baptist,
Anglican, Assembly of God, Methodist,
Presbyterian, oh yes and “interdenominational”
translated into Mandarin, Hokkien and Tamil!
Yep it’s fun!!! Between the two of us; 2-3
services every Sunday. Oops! Almost forgot
Portuguese too!
|
Don’t
forget about the “Ladies Night” this
Saturday!!! Singapore ladies please come and be
a part! We will be auctioning off some very
nice jewelry and paintings
too!!!
Please
confirm your participation
ASAP!

The
last few years in Brazil God has opened the
gates of Heaven to us through many of you.
Enabling us to do greater things each year
in ministry, construction, reaching out and
making disciples of people across the nation
of Brazil. Through your support we also help
missionaries on five continents and reach
out to the furthest reaches of the Amazon
jungle. You have made this possible through
your gifts and through your
prayers!
Unknown to all but our closest friends, is the
other side of the battle. Our ISOM School base
in Brazil is facing an onslaught of challenges
that no amount of money can really fix. “We
wrestle not against flesh and blood but against
principalities and powers in our dark
world.”
|
Please
keep our ISOM schools, staff and
students in
your prayers for
wisdom
and the ability to jump the continual
hurdles set before us
in Brazil.
We
have recently opened a school in Japan which
was a bit of a challenge. People are
contacting us each week for info about the
ISOM schools.
We
just need to increase or base number of
students and also
comply
with the complicated tax and civil laws
regarding our ministry.
The longer we are in Brazil it seems the more
complicated and expensive everything is
becoming! As the US
dollar falls the economy in Brazil is also
experiencing high inflation.

We
just had out first event on Saturday night
the 4th of June. It was a learning
experience for sure it was also a lot of fun
and work! We raised
about S$2,000 so that was good too! Thank
you all for your prayers, encouragement,
volunteering and giving.
Since the beginning of this Amazon ISOM project
I have learned a lot about boats… not a very
exciting subject so I will spare you all but
the final details! Two engines
will cost USD $150,000. The blue prints are
going to cost about USD$35,000 if I can get a
really good deal in Brazil! The boat price we
were quoted did not include the
engines!!! Or the blue
prints… Sure glad God is not scared off by a
change in budget!

19
meters by 6 meters is the
size.
Or 62 feet by 20 feet.
That’s about the size of two huge tour buses
side by side

On the
other hand, on the subject of the drilling
rig. The price
and weight keeps going down as we find new
equipment that will do the same function for
less weight and a better price! Now that’s
some better news! I modified this photo in
Photoshop to demonstrate the automated rig
we will build…
On my
last trip to Maués we were able to pass a
hand sized solar charged (MP3) audio player
with the complete ISOM school on it and also
an audio new testament to two of the leaders
in the Amazon.
This
will be a test run to see how the training
will work in the interior areas with the
indigenous.
Please
pray for our leaders there as
well. They are
really facing a lot of
challenges. The
families have been fighting a lot of health
issues lately. And the
price of fuel has gone up
dramatically. The boat
takes 25 liters an hour of fuel; that’s $35
an hour for a 12 hour round
trip!
This is only the fuel expense to drill a
well or visit and spend time to disciple
a tribal family.
How
far is that? Oh, only about 50 miles
(80km)
Please
keep our Amazon ministry team, ISOM workers
and our trip to Singapore in your
prayers!!!
